What we believe:
Article One: The Scriptures
We believe the Bible was written by divinely inspired men and is a flawless guide from God. It has God as its author, salvation as its purpose, and truth without error as its content. It reveals how God judges us and is the final authority for Christian unity, belief, and conduct.
Article Two: The One True God
We believe in one living and true God—eternal, all-knowing, and all-powerful—who created and rules over all. He is holy and deserving of our complete trust, love, and worship. Within God’s unity are three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—equal in every divine attribute, working together in perfect harmony.
Article Three: Humanity’s Fall
We believe humanity was created holy but fell from that state through willful sin. As a result, all people are sinners by choice, separated from God, and naturally inclined toward sin—deserving of just and eternal judgment, without excuse.
Article Four: The Way of Salvation
We believe salvation is entirely by God's grace through Jesus Christ, who took on human nature (without sin), perfectly obeyed God’s law, and made full atonement for our sins through His death. He rose again, reigns in heaven, and is uniquely qualified to be our all-sufficient Savior.
Article Five: Justification
We believe justification—being made right with God—is a gift for all who trust in Christ. It includes the forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life, not based on our works but through faith in Jesus' sacrifice. God credits Christ’s righteousness to us, bringing peace with Him and every spiritual blessing.
Article Six: The Freeness of Salvation
We believe salvation is freely offered to everyone through the gospel. All are called to respond with sincere faith, repentance, and obedience. Nothing prevents anyone from being saved except their own sin and rejection of the gospel, which brings deeper condemnation.
Article Seven: Grace in Regeneration
We believe that to be saved, one must be born again—receiving a new, holy nature. This transformation is a mysterious work of the Holy Spirit through the truth of the gospel, leading to genuine obedience. Its evidence is seen in repentance, faith, and a changed life.
Article Eight: Repentance and Faith
We believe repentance and faith are both divine gifts and essential responses to the gospel. Recognizing our guilt and need for salvation, we turn to God in sorrow and trust Christ as our only Savior, embracing Him as Prophet, Priest, and King.
Article Nine: God’s Purpose and Grace
We believe that election is God’s eternal plan to graciously save sinners. It aligns with human responsibility and includes both the ends and the means of salvation. It magnifies God’s wisdom and mercy, excludes pride, and fosters humility, worship, and obedience. Evidence of election is seen in those who truly believe, and assurance of it requires earnest pursuit.
Article Ten: Sanctification
We believe sanctification is the lifelong process by which believers grow in holiness. It begins at conversion and continues through the work of the Holy Spirit using Scripture, self-examination, prayer, and discipline to shape us more into Christ’s likeness.
Article Eleven: Perseverance of the Saints
We believe that true believers will remain faithful to Christ until the end. Their continued faith and commitment distinguish them from false believers. God watches over them and keeps them secure through faith for salvation.
Article Twelve: Law and Gospel
We believe God’s law is eternally just and reflects His moral order. Though humans cannot fulfill it due to their sinful nature, the gospel offers a way to restore obedience through Christ, leading to transformation and holiness in the context of the Church.
Article Thirteen: The Church
We believe a true Church is a group of baptized believers united by covenant, sharing the gospel, practicing Christ’s ordinances, and guided by Scripture. Its leaders—Pastors and Deacons—must meet the qualifications outlined in Scripture.
Article Fourteen: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
We believe baptism is for believers, symbolizing our faith in Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. It is by immersion and a prerequisite for Church membership and participation in the Lord’s Supper, where we remember Christ’s sacrifice with bread and wine after thoughtful self-examination.
Article Fifteen: The Lord’s Day
We believe the first day of the week is the Lord’s Day and should be devoted to worship, rest from worldly work, and spiritual reflection, as a foretaste of the eternal rest awaiting God’s people.
Article Sixteen: Civil Government
We believe civil government is ordained by God for the good of society. We are called to respect and pray for leaders, obeying them unless they contradict the will of Christ, who alone rules our conscience and is King over all.
Article Seventeen: The Righteous and the Wicked
We believe there is a real and lasting difference between the righteous and the wicked. Those justified by faith in Christ and made holy by the Spirit are righteous. Those who persist in unbelief remain under God’s judgment, both in life and after death.
Article Eighteen: The World to Come
We believe the end of the world is near. Christ will return, raise the dead, and judge all people. The wicked will face eternal punishment, and the righteous will enter eternal joy. This judgment will determine each person’s final destiny forever.
